Mirror Image - A human hull transformed into an everlasting prince of the night, a Vampire. So much is gained, but not without loss.

One with so many powers is now powerless to gaze into a simple looking glass.  What does this malaise represent? No turning back? A release from mankind, yet the need for mankind in order to survive?

Widow Maker - The city lay shrouded in the distance, looming like a fragile virgin clothed in white. The year was 2785.  Vincent’s keen eyesight cut through the fog, singeing over the towering steel buildings like a guided laser.  He was searching for something lost, something that he would probably never reclaim.  continue

The Haunted House - "Over here, I tell you!  The coffin is over here!"  Mona rolled her eyes up at Frank. Idiot. He was acting if he'd found the secret entrance in the wall rather than her. She had a good mind to turn back and let Frank stand his chances of being sacrificed by the coven of she-male vampires that inhabited the dungeon of the castle. . . . continue

The Crying Veil - Anna's eyes widened in terror as the wedding veil she had situated on her head was suddenly covered with blood - drops of blood.  She detected crying, pitiful crying as if someone in her head were in agony.... continue

Vampires, The Power of the Cape - continued

Gloves
Vampires look totally ludicrous in white furry gloves, like they've just feasted on a flock of seals. Yes, that look's been tested and failed miserably. Nothing can out perform the cheekiness of solid white gloves when studded on a Vampire - not even a white-gloved Michael Jackson when he's in full form. Well, we all know the secret. It's takes two.

The Vampire's Cape
Aahhhhh! Finally, we have a fashion item that we can enhance upon! The wonderful, expressive cape! This is perhaps the Vampires most seductive tool. It reeks of symbolic metamorphosis.

For one, the cape represents the wings of our wonderful little bat friends. It's also a dark representation of a cocoon, a cloaked cave of darkness - a coffin. The cape can be used as an effective shield against all those good elements that want to wipe out the Vampire.  The cape always has that, "I'm dressed for dinner," look. And, it always looks ultra cool whenever the Vampire lifts an arm that is carefully draped with a portion of the cape, peers over the top, and views the victim with those piercing eyes!

Let's look at a few vampire cape fashion options!

A classic solid black cape speaks volumes! Can we say bat?

A black cape supporting a red collar makes a strong fashion statement. In fact, it's so strong that it could be called a 'Garlic Statement'. Black represents evil, darkness, and death. Red represents life, and sacrifice. This would be a very terrific cape choice.

A cape of paisley looks rather dowdy and is highly discouraged by the Ralph L's and Tommy H's designers of the Vampire underworld.

A cape done in orange, even when crafted of silk, is totally unacceptable. The pale pallor of the Vampire clashes relentlessly in the gazer's eye. If you know of anyone that has one of these prehistoric oranges hanging in their closet, advise them to donate it to the The Foundation of Retired Clowns immediately!

A totally red-colored cape is breathtaking! Lined in either black or silver, this is guaranteed to make the crowd gasp. And red goes well with any landscape!

A short cape means….well, that's another story.

So now that we know the in's, the out's, and some good potential's of cape fashion, one question remains. To starch or not to starch?

The Vampire & The Cowboy - He had ridden so far, so long, that Jack's thighs still smelled of smoked leather from the saddle that sat astride his twenty-year old mare, Ladonya.  And the horse wasn't happy about the extended ride.  She had been blowing through her nostrils at him for the last ten minutes, the last gust a gnat's ass from Jack's ear.  continue

The Ethnic Vampire Wars -A thick layer of fog lay captive in the valley below the castle.  It was the Ethnic Vampire Wars.  continue

Vampire For Hire - It wasn’t easy, obtaining a decent night job.  In the first place, not many businesses were willing to do interviews for the night slots during the late evening hours, after the sun went down.  Being a vampire, that was the only time when Jase could face the world – during the dark of night, that is.  continue

The Vampire Bat, el Desmodus rotundas - Blood sucking demon? Flying devil? Parasite from hell? Could these cruel descriptions be related to our little winged friend, the Vampire Bat? Yes, I'm afraid so. However, the myths and legends that portray these winged lovelies are highly exaggerated.  continue

Transformation of a Vampire - You see him in the black night, at first an ominous silhouette cloaked by the sheen of a silver moon high overhead.  The unique power of transformation is one of the most alluring talents of a Vampire…

Sky At Dawn sets the focus on vampires - funny, bumbling vampires. However, take note that a few of our tales measure a 4 on the Spooky Scale.  Other than being a bit scary, all are 'wholesome'.  Well, perhaps that's not the correct word to use.  Let's just say that the language and content is 'nice', not naughty.  Just scary.

However, 99% of our content is humor and on that note, please know that we cannot be responsible for those that laugh themselves to death.
