The Ethnic Vampire War ~ Act II Although before the demise of man it was said that the sun would soon explode and end all things, Kreef could only focus on the Ethnic Vampire War right now. Besides, 'right now' was all that ever really mattered. Making his way towards the towering castle in the distance, he was reminded again of the vampire myths. Garlic, mirrors, bats - yes, all myths, including the blood fest. Everything living on earth was gone now - and with a legion of blood-thirsty vampires on the loose, their demise would have been swift if true to the myth. Kreef chased his troubling thoughts from him and focused on his man-servant as time was growing short before the big sleep. "Demontique - has he ordered the attack?" Yonamus nodded. "Yes. I am told that he will attack the Bronzed-Skins at dusk." "I see."
Kreef had entered the castle and was making his way down the
long spiral staircase leading to the dungeon. It was a drafty
area. Most of his kind had moved their sleeping quarters to
more favorable areas of their homes as the threat of annihilation
by man was no longer an imposition. Kreef supposed that he
should do the same, but the dungeon was dark , making it easier
to drift off the cold cliff of death each sunrise. "It appears that you may be forced to join the battle, whether you wish to, or not," Yonamus reflected, opening the coffin, his face an eerie mix of emotions, what face that Kreef could see, that is. And Kreef didn't like what he saw mirrored on his man-servant's face.....these almost-human emotions. Indeed, he silently acknowledged that Yonamus was like one-hundred or so other underlings in the valley - half vampire and half human. Yonamus hastened, knowing that time was of the essence. "Kreef, I remember what it was like - the ethnic wars between humans. Many died, many sacrificed their lives for the effort and in the end, my kind was obliterated by a force that hedged into our society while we were focused on what didn't really matter. And the fact that your kind spars over color accentuates the fact that you aren't much different than the species you eradicated from earth-" "Enough!" Kreef snapped, his hands two doubled fists by his side. Yonamus nodded, surrendering to the stronger. He had little choice; if he pursued, Kreef could very well take away his free thoughts. With his master settled, he crept from the dungeon, taking great care to close the gate. Dusk would soon dawn. A new day. A day of slaughter, and perhaps the beginning of the end of all. The Vampire & The Cowboy - He had ridden so far, so long, that Jack's thighs still smelled of smoked leather from the saddle that sat astride his twenty-year old mare, Ladonya. And the horse wasn't happy about the extended ride. She had been blowing through her nostrils at him for the last ten minutes, the last gust a gnat's ass from Jack's ear. continue The Ethnic Vampire Wars -A thick layer of fog lay captive in the valley below the castle. It was the Ethnic Vampire Wars. continue Fashion Statement - Vampires - Vincent revolved his dark head slightly, moving his eyes mysteriously over the crowd. They loved him, without a doubt. His popularity was certainly nothing to scoff about. But would they love him still, if they knew that he was a vampire? continue Pretty In Pick - “Right here – pile it on right cheer,” the hick told Qieu, pointing his half-full fork of spaghetti to his plate. continue Goat's Pine al la Mode - Goat lived in a valley that was sparsely clothed with pines, red cedars, and sumac that turned a vivid red each autumn. As so was the season, for autumn had settled in for a brief visit that soon would welcome winter. continue Sweet Tooth, Sweet Fangs - Quinn studied the box of chocolates, finding them irresistible. continue Vampire Online - Jewel entered the chatroom, settling in for a relaxing night of frivolous chatter. The chats were always entertaining, and a pretty brainless way to chill out for the evening. continue Oh, My Aching Fang! - “Ouch! Don’t touch it! Get away from me, you old sawbones!” “Quit being such a baby,” Monique hissed, her beautiful pale face mere inches from Sandar's. “Well, it’s settled, dear. You’re going to need a dentist.” continue Vampire For Hire - It wasn’t easy, obtaining a decent night job. In the first place, not many businesses were willing to do interviews for the night slots during the late evening hours, after the sun went down. Being a vampire, that was the only time when Jase could face the world – during the dark of night, that is. continue
The Vampire Bat, el Desmodus rotundas - Blood sucking demon? Flying devil? Parasite from hell? Could these cruel descriptions be related to our little winged friend, the Vampire Bat? Yes, I'm afraid so. However, the myths and legends that portray these winged lovelies are highly exaggerated. continue
Transformation of a Vampire - You see him in the black night, at first an ominous silhouette cloaked by the sheen of a silver moon high overhead. The unique power of transformation is one of the most alluring talents of a Vampire… The shadow abruptly transforms from what appeared to be a man, into a wolf then vanishes into the night. For a moment, you believe you have imagined this phenomena but your sixth sense tells you that you've just crossed paths with a Vampire. continue Sky At Dawn sets the focus on vampires - funny, bumbling vampires. However, take note that a few of our tales measure a 4 on the Spooky Scale. Other than being a bit scary, all are 'wholesome'. Well, perhaps that's not the correct word to use. Let's just say that the language and content is 'nice', not naughty. Just scary.
