A Short Vampire Story - Let the Show Begin
Written by Sky Taylor, Sky at Dawn
Buck had buckteeth.
Zen snarled as he viewed him standing on stage, looking like an overgrown Texas jackrabbit! What had possessed Henry to choose this ugly boy for the part?
What a waste! Henry’s ingenious idea of meshing The Rime of the Ancient Mariner play, with a gothic twist, was the greatest idea since the creation of Limon. Its only salvation would be for Buck to choke on the fermented albatross that was hanging around his too-thin neck.
The author, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, was certain to be crying in his grave somewhere.
Amid his current tragedy, a smile surfaced on Zen’s lips, for he had been a personal companion of Samuel’s. But that, of course, had been another lifetime.
He jerked his attentions back to Buck who was currently butchering some of the most precious and prized lines of the play.
God save thee, ancient Mariner!
From the fiends, that plague thee thus! --
Why look'st thou so?" -- With my crossbow
I shot the Albatross.
“I’d like to shoot you!” Zen wanted to scream, and he discovered he was trembling beneath his black cape.
He rose and instead shouted onto the stage, “No! No! No! It’s all wrong! Totally wrong! Again! Again. Do it again.”
Buck stared at him, his teeth jutted from his little round hole-of-a-mouth. It was an overly tiny mouth at that. He was dressed in worn jeans and a white T-shirt embossed with a popular can of beer – proving in itself that the boy didn’t contain an ounce of class, Zen decided as he continued his assessment of ‘the one who was greatly lacking’!

Vampire For Hire - It wasn’t easy, obtaining a decent night job.
