The Last Man on Earth Staring Vincent Price ~ Movie ReviewIf you're a Vampire fan, check out this oldie but goldie horror movie starring Vincent Price. The Last Man on Earth is a classic black and white Vampire thriller that delivers entertainment with a bite! "The Last Man on Earth" is an eerie film so captivating that you'll remain glued to the screen from start to finish. You may even notice a parallel with a later movie entitled, "The Omega Man". The sole survivor of an altering vampire disease, Vincent Price (a.k.a. Robert) delivers a stunning stand-alone performance. In fact, he carries the show until the third act when he discovers a wandering girl on a desolate hill as he is busy burying the latest victim of the vampire disease, a black poodle. Robert is virtually the last man on earth, immune to the vampire disease due to a bat bite he received in Panama. At least, that's Robert's theory. Although Robert has suffered the loss of his entire family, as well as his friends, he has one objective in life; survival. And in this movie, it's survival for the fittest. The town is engorged with walking nocturnal vampires, though they remain weak for lack of fresh blood to feed upon due to the unavailability of human prey. In fact, they are down to one lone human prey. Yes, only one man remains on earth and the vampires have just slaughtered the last poodle. Robert fearlessly meanders through the movie, blazing down the road in a classic Ford station wagon in search of wayward vampires. They must all be destroyed with the wooden stakes - stakes that he personally carved on his generator-driven lathe. When the hoard of weak vampires wreaks havoc and destroys the car - well, not a problem for Robert. He merely visits the local abandoned car dealership, passes up a snazzy corvette for a Chevy station wagon - or as he calls it, a hearse, and he's back on the vampire trail. The ending, as in almost all Vincent Price endings, has a cool twist. So there we have it; a Vampire movie, good acting, a solid plot with a vampire poodle and catchy cars. If you can grab this movie, then do - and while you're at it, don't forget the popcorn and a pal. You won't want to watch this one alone.
The Vampire & The Cowboy - He had ridden so far, so long, that Jack's thighs still smelled of smoked leather from the saddle that sat astride his twenty-year old mare, Ladonya. And the horse wasn't happy about the extended ride. She had been blowing through her nostrils at him for the last ten minutes, the last gust a gnat's ass from Jack's ear. continue The Ethnic Vampire Wars -A thick layer of fog lay captive in the valley below the castle. It was the Ethnic Vampire Wars. continue Fashion Statement - Vampires - Vincent revolved his dark head slightly, moving his eyes mysteriously over the crowd. They loved him, without a doubt. His popularity was certainly nothing to scoff about. But would they love him still, if they knew that he was a vampire? continue Pretty In Pick - “Right here – pile it on right cheer,” the hick told Qieu, pointing his half-full fork of spaghetti to his plate. continue Goat's Pine al la Mode - Goat lived in a valley that was sparsely clothed with pines, red cedars, and sumac that turned a vivid red each autumn. As so was the season, for autumn had settled in for a brief visit that soon would welcome winter. continue Sweet Tooth, Sweet Fangs - Quinn studied the box of chocolates, finding them irresistible. continue Vampire Online - Jewel entered the chatroom, settling in for a relaxing night of frivolous chatter. The chats were always entertaining, and a pretty brainless way to chill out for the evening. continue Oh, My Aching Fang! - “Ouch! Don’t touch it! Get away from me, you old sawbones!” “Quit being such a baby,” Monique hissed, her beautiful pale face mere inches from Sandar's. “Well, it’s settled, dear. You’re going to need a dentist.” continue Vampire For Hire - It wasn’t easy, obtaining a decent night job. In the first place, not many businesses were willing to do interviews for the night slots during the late evening hours, after the sun went down. Being a vampire, that was the only time when Jase could face the world – during the dark of night, that is. continue
The Vampire Bat, el Desmodus rotundas - Blood sucking demon? Flying devil? Parasite from hell? Could these cruel descriptions be related to our little winged friend, the Vampire Bat? Yes, I'm afraid so. However, the myths and legends that portray these winged lovelies are highly exaggerated. continue
Transformation of a Vampire - You see him in the black night, at first an ominous silhouette cloaked by the sheen of a silver moon high overhead. The unique power of transformation is one of the most alluring talents of a Vampire… The shadow abruptly transforms from what appeared to be a man, into a wolf then vanishes into the night. For a moment, you believe you have imagined this phenomena but your sixth sense tells you that you've just crossed paths with a Vampire. continue Sky At Dawn sets the focus on vampires - funny, bumbling vampires.
