The moaning grew louder, emitting eerily from the forest walls. Ti wasn't so certain anymore that the noise was the sound of lovers, as the area was a cove for kindling romance. Had he not known better, he would have sworn the sound was the sound of a ghost!
The moaning persisted past midnight. There were certain disadvantages to owning a cabin in the woods, Ti decided as he tossed and turned, unable to find the soothing Arms of Sleep.
Time inched by, second by second, the moaning growing louder and louder and louder until a wail overcome the forest.
Ti jerked up in his bed, any stray embers of sleep swiftly dashed away. He knew that he'd have to investigate or there would 'no sleeping' tonight.
"Kids! Pranksters! I should call the authorities," Ti peeled out, his patience completely spent.
Five minutes later he was dressed in jeans, a pull over sweater and warm boots. As he exited the cabin, his warm breath met the cold, and smoke hovered about his mouth at each given breath.
The walk into the forest was short and he made tracks towards the loud noise with the element of surprise on his side.
